VAT reduction on solar energy systems...
Many current initiatives and grant - schemes exist to facilitate the professional installation of solar panels providing either domestic hot-water or electricity if your dwelling is;

• owner occupied homes
• homes rented from private landlords
• homes rented from local authorities & housing associations
• caravans & house-boats
• residential buildings within the community; care homes etc.
• buildings owned by charities and non-commercial organisations

These often equates to savings in the region of £400 - £600 on the cost of a typical domestic solar installation.

Whilst welcoming this progress obviously we would like to see these reductions apply across the board to keep solar energy in step with the tax rate on fossil fuels.
Nor does this reduction apply to applications fitted to industrial or business premises - a great pity. Clearly there's still more scope for even more government incentives and initiatives.
